Eighth grade students wishing to attend Bishop Fenwick High School must take the High School Placement Test (HSPT) on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Students may take the test at any Archdiocesan high school on that date, and have their test scores sent to up to three schools. Students wishing to be considered for enrollment and scholarship at Bishop Fenwick, but taking the test at another school, must indicate at their test site that they want their scores sent to Bishop Fenwick High School. For Bishop Fenwick, this is not an entrance exam, but a test to determine, along with elementary school records and standardized test scores, the appropriate course recommendation. Per Archdiocesan guidelines, there is a $30 fee for the test. Pre-registration for the test is required; please click on the link above to pre-register.

Make-Up Test Date: Wednesday, December 2, 2020 – students should arrive by 8:15 am as the test will begin promptly at 8:30 am. The High School Placement Test will end around 12 pm. A light snack will be provided during a break. Special Testing Accommodations are not available on this date. Please pre-register with the Admissions Office at (513) 428-0525.
Student’s choice of testing site does not affect admission into any individual Catholic High School.
Special Testing Accommodations: Extended time; reader; and large print. Pre-registration and copies of a current IEP, ISP or 504 Plan, along with the Special Testing Accommodation Form (Testing Accommodation Form) must be received no later than Friday, November 6, 2020.

We offer two different Saturday classes as optional PREP class for 8th Graders taking the high school placement test in November. Pre-registration is required by clicking on the above registration link. Although the high school placement test is not an entrance exam and used strictly for placement purposes, the PREP class is designed to prepare and familiarize yourself with the testing. Again, this is optional and space is limited.
Each student will receive a 100+ page curriculum which includes sample practice questions, testing strategies and examples of ability type questions that fall in the category of quantitative, verbal and non-verbal test questions. These classes will be taught by experienced instructors from LEAP covering the following topics:

- Testing Strategies
- Abilities test sample question types for quantitative, verbal and non-verbal
- Achievement test sample questions and practice on Iowa based questions
